The house was built in 1872 and was formerly a cottage hospital before Mr Peter Trumble ran it as a popular country club, restaurant and small hotel.

It has more recently been refurbished to combine the amenities of a modern guest house with the elegance of an earlier age.

At Trumbles, guests often comment on the high standard of accommodation and in particular, the size of the bedrooms.

The spacious rooms are all equipped with private en-suite facilities - with a power shower, toilet and wash basin.

For guests departing earlier, a self-service Continental Breakfast selection is available - cereals, toast, croissants, fresh fruit, cheeses, yoghurts, tea and coffee.

Charlwood village has 3 pubs, an Indian restaurant and a charming bistro, whilst nearby Horley provides further eating and take-away options.

Charlwood is about 4 miles west of Gatwick Airport and is also easily accessible from both the M23 and M25 motorways.

The efficient and regular Gatwick Express train service takes about half an hour to get to London Victoria Station.
