Built in 1888, Barbican House overlooks the famous Medieval City Walls and is a 10 minute stroll from the main attractions of York, including the Minster and the University.
A fine example of a Victorian town house, it has individual charm and character retaining many of its original period features.
Hosts Adrian and Ann Bradley provide their guests with comfort and hospitality.

Guests are assured of a good nights sleep at this guest house, with pocket-sprung deluxe mattresses and comfort which is second to none. All bedrooms are well equipped, with:
Luxury bath sheets and towels are provided in every guest house room together with a complimentary decanter of sherry. Either double or twin bedded rooms are available - with single occupancy rates sometimes available. Superior rooms have a king-size double bed and a DVD Player. Room number 1 is a spacious double room with matching pine bedside tables, chest of drawers and a feature fireplace. Room number 2 is a Superior bedroom with a pair of single beds with pine headboards. Room number 3 is a Superior bedroom with a King Size double bed and matching white furniture. Room number 4 is a Superior bedroom with a King size double bed with a brass bedstead. Room number 5 is a Superior bedroom with a King size double bed and views of York Minster over the City Walls. Room number 6 is a spacious double room with furniture including a comfortable two-seater sofa. Room number 7 is a Superior bedroom with a King size double bed on the ground floor. Room number 8 [the Barbican Lodge Annex suite] is on ground floor level and has both a king-size double and a single bed. The separate lounge has a comfortable sofa. |

Food and Drink
Full English breakfast is served each morning - locally produced bacon and sausages from 'The Barbican Grill'.
The dining room is attractive and spacious and a vegetarian or alternative breakfast menu is readily available.
There is always a fresh fruit platter, yoghurt, muffins, cereal, toast, plus a selection of teas and coffee.
Location
The city centre is within a short walk [only 450 yards away] and York University is only a 15 minute walk away.
The splendid Barbican Leisure Centre is only 100 metres away and provides both a public swimming pool and a high quality venue for concerts and functions.
Barbican House is also close to some of the best and most reasonable restaurants and pubs in town.
