Located a short walk from Coleford town centre, this hotel is family run and provides accommodation that is both spacious and comfortable.
Coleford is in The Forest of Dean, a popular tourist destination and close to the scenic Wye Valley and Ross-on-Wye.
Many guests stay in the Forest House Hotel when attending a wedding or when visiting nearby Monmouth, Chepstow or the famous Clearwell Caves.
Originally known as Tump House, the oldest part of the hotel building dates back to 1797.
It was the home of David Mushet and his son Robert Forester Mushet until about 1850 [pioneers in the steel making process].

Food and Drink
As far as possible ingredients are sourced locally - eggs are free range and breakfast sausages and bacon are produced by an excellent local butcher.
The hotel's Bluebell Restaurant offers an excellent a la carte menu, cooked to order by the award-winning chef.
Open from Monday to Saturday evenings, the Bluebell is one of the most popular restaurants in Coleford - please ensure that you reserve a table in advance if possible.
A carefully chosen selection of good quality wine is served to complement the menu.
Please let Forest House Hotel know in advance of any special dietary requirements, which can be easily catered for.
Conference and Function Facilities
The Forest House Hotel and Bluebell Restaurant can be booked for a variety of small functions, business lunches and dinners.
For wedding breakfasts, up to 35 people can be catered for, rising to 80 people for buffet receptions.
There is also a small, private dining room that can seat up to 16 people around a single table, ideal for family parties or business occasions.
Location
The hotel is less than a mile west of the centre of Coleford with its shops, cafes and pubs.
From the the Clock Tower in the centre of Coleford, go up the High Street, past the cinema on the right hand side, over the mini-roundabout and the hotel is on the right hand side - opposite the ambulance and fire stations.
The car park is at the rear of the hotel, approached by turning right into Hampshire Gardens - reception is accessed directly from the car park.
Leisure
The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley are both areas of outstanding natural beauty - popular for walking holidays, cycling holidays and weddings.
There is a wide variety of places to visit and activities to take part in, providing something of interest for everyone.
Within walking distance of the hotel there are two golf courses, a leisure centre, a railway museum, the Tourist information Office, an excellent book shop and a small, charming cinema.

Family rooms £65.00 per night [2 adults sharing] plus £15.00 per child 12 years or under [sharing room with adults]. Over 12 years, children are charged as adults.
