Originally a coaching inn in the early 1800s, this bed and breakfast is located in Alnmouth and is still used as a stopover by travellers heading between England and the Scottish Borders today.
The coastal village of Alnmouth and nearby town of Alnwick are tourist attractions in their own right, with many activities to enjoy in the scenic surroundings, and famous landmarks to discover.
Seafield House is centrally located in Alnmouth and the building, a Grade II Listed property, now provides comfortable, recently modernised accommodation.
The guest lounge is available for bed and breakfast guests to relax in at any time, with roaring log fire during the winter months. The house has a garden with beautiful views over the River Aln and its estuary.
Alnmouth Beach is about two minutes walk from Seafield House B&B and Warkworth Castle is within a 10 minute drive.

Accommodation
In the centre of Alnmouth, Seafield House Bed and Breakfast has five bedrooms, each with private en-suite facilities.
The spacious family room has a King Size double bed with 'power' shower, toilet and wash basin. An additional single bed provides accommodation ideal for a child.
There are two rooms of a 'Superior' standard, each with a King Size Double bed. One of the Superior rooms has a 'power' shower, toilet and wash basin, whilst the other has a bath with shower over, toilet and wash basin.
The double room enjoys views over the garden and towards the estuary in Alnmouth Bay, with 'power' shower, toilet and wash basin.
The single room has a 'power' shower, toilet and wash basin.
Every bedroom at Seafield House features a TV [some with DVD player], free 'Wi-fi' wireless internet access for guests with laptop computers, hairdryer, toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities.
Food and Drink
Each morning, a varied breakfast menu is on offer - with local and, where possible, organic and fairtrade produce used in the cooking. Vegetarian and special diets can be catered for on request.
Location
Northumberland is a very easy part of England to reach and explore, regardless of what method of transport is chosen. Alnmouth is well connected to the transport network with major roads, mainline railway lines and a major airport nearby.
The A1 [one of the main trunk routes between London and Scotland] is only a 10 minute drive away by car. The railway station at Alnmouth [a 5 minute taxi journey or bus ride from Seafield House] offers good connections to the east coast rail services between London and Edinburgh - and there is a bus stop diagonally opposite the house.
The nearest airport is Newcastle International, about 30 miles to the south of Alnmouth [or Edinburgh International Airport is available to the north].
Leisure
Guests at this B&B can enjoy a leisurely start to the day reading a complimentary newspaper. Later on, wht not curl up with a good book? A selection of books can be borrowed from the extensive library at Seafield House - and by arrangement, guests may take a book home with them too!
As well as being an ideal base for relaxation and 'chilling out' away from it all, Alnmouth is an excellent place from which to enjoy a golfing holiday, a cycling tour of the north east, or a walking or bird watching expedition.
There are two local golf clubs, one with a 9 hole course and the other with an 18 hole championship standard challenge.
The area in and around Alnmouth offers spectacular natural scenery and numerous attractions:
- Alnwick is a 10 minute drive away - home of Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Book Shop, Hulne Park and the Bailiffgate Museum
- Cragside and Rothbury - a 30 minute drive from Seafield House
- Farne Islands Boat Trips - the departure point is less than 40 minutes drive away
- Bamburgh Castle or Holy Island - both about a 45 minute drive from Alnmouth
Travelling inland for a day trip, visitors can discover the many leisure activities and varied terrain in the Northumberland National Park and the Kielder Forest Park.
