General Details
If you are looking for great value, comfortable accommodation near Nottingham University, the Hylands Hotel is ideal.
Situated on Queens Road in Beeston, the hotel is within a short walk of the main university campus buildings and is very popular with visiting scholars, students, professors and parents visiting their children who are studying in Nottingham.
The local bus station and railway station are both a stone's throw away, with regular bus and train services providing a fast and efficient link with the shops, businesses, conference venues and leisure attractions of the city centre.
If you are visiting Nottingham's Queens Medical Centre [QMC] to study, visit a relative, attend a conference, or you are here on NHS business, staying in Beeston is very convenient - and much cheaper than the larger hotels in central Nottingham.
The Hylands Hotel offers family run bed and breakfast accommodation with a friendly atmosphere, and secure off street parking.
There is a guest lounge, several nearby award winning public houses, local shops, and the Beeston Business Centre [home of Atos Origin's new building, Siemens, Marconi and many other businesses] is just around the corner.
Boots The Chemist has a major industrial site in Beeston, and this is within walking distance of Hylands Hotel.
Accommodation
The accommodation has been awarded with three stars by the English Tourism Council and there is a choice of double, twin, family or single rooms.
There are 40 comfortable bedrooms - mostly with en-suite facilities [shower, toilet and wash basin].
Every bedroom has a television with cable / satellite digital channels [the guest lounge also provides satellite TV].
Other equipment in each room includes tea or coffee making facilities, direct dial telephone [payphone also available in reception] and a hair dryer.
Food and Drink
The hotel serves breakfast to all guests each morning, and other meals may be available on request. Special diets can be catered for on request.
Beeston offers a range of restaurants with many cuisines, and the Hylands Hotel is on the same street as the Victoria Hotel - renowned for the quality of the food served, and its extensive range of real ales, ciders and wines.
A taxi to Nottingham city centre [where there are of course numerous choices for evening meals] costs between six and ten pounds depending on the time of day / type of taxi, but most locals use the bus or train service because it is so efficient.

The Hylands Hotel is about three miles from the centre of Nottingham by road - there are cycle lanes along University Boulevard, or tracks that run via the canal and Trent Embankment.
There is easy access to this accommodation from the M1 motorway - junction 25 [or junction 26] can be reached by car in about ten or fifteen minutes depending on traffic. Please ask for detailed directions.
