Looe Accommodation

"Just had a Winter week at the Fieldhead Hotel in Looe and loved it. Cannot fault the hotel. Looe too is a super little town excellently placed for viewing the surrounding area, super sandy beach, rock pools, cliffs, working harbour, excellent town centre parking and all its nooks and crannies, small ancient back streets, one can just feel those old smugglers and fishermen - antique shops and even at this time of year, has a healthy night life. The best little pub is the Ye Olde Salutation.

We had a standard double with that fantastic sea view as do all the public rooms. Very comfortable, warm and one of the cleanest hotels and hotel rooms we have stayed in. Most hospitable host in Julian. Friendly efficient service. Great fresh food with an excellent buffet and hot selection for breakfast including the best kippers ever. Dinner too was excellent. We booked to have dinner each night and did not regret one of them with a different menu each night and always well cooked and pleasingly presented. The reasonably priced wine list of some 40 wines showed a professional skill of choice in its diversity of wine and price. Bar drinks a bit expensive, but then all are House doubles.

A big bonus is the free on site car parking adjacent to the hotel. Sadly we were not there at a time for the swimming pool, which I can imagine, is just outstanding during the Summer with its also wonderful Mediterranean views.

All that and the price? Very reasonable for all we had.
