"What a great experience! We took over the whole hotel as a venue for our daughter's wedding. From the ceremony, through the wedding breakfast to the evening 'do' to breakfast the following morning we can not fault the Woodhall Spa Hotel.
From the first impression - over a year ago, to the actual event on Saturday 16 May we could not have asked for anything more!
Where to start!
The hotel is lovely - with character and charm but not lacking modern comforts.
The staff could not do enough for us - no request was a problem or too much trouble!
The rooms are spacious, well equipped and the beds so comfortable!
The food is wonderful!
If you are looking for a wedding venue or just a quiet weekend away in the lovely village of Woodhall Spa I would strongly recommend the Woodhall Spa Hotel" Rosemary Smith, Cleethorpes, Visited May 2009
"Had heard lots of good things about the hotel post its renovation and decided to give it a try. Stern receptionist didnt give best of first impressions, particularly as she informed us there was a snag with the hot water system and the low pressure meant the hot tap needed to be run for a long time to reach a temperature - great start. Room was airy but hot - radiator on full blast, as were all the others in the hotel, but with no way of controlling the temperature. Bathroom was basic, but cold - no heating at all! Big TV was nice, but 4 poster bed a bit disappointing - bare and out of place in room. Tried the shower - ran it for 25 mins to get hot water, then tried to introduce cold - no joy either fully hot or fully cold. That sort of pushed us towards using the bath, but once we'd seen the head and pubic hairs of the previous occupant all over the bath, we didn't bother. Towels were stained but smelt very fresh; the comment card in the room had been completed by previous occupants and not removed. Dinner in the sadly empty dining room was nice with extremely pleasant young staff - that said, a bit of training on how to serve wine wouldn't go a miss. After diner we had excellent fresh coffee in the bar and wanted a glass of wine - they'd run out of house wine! As a result of effectively having a room with no usable bath or shower, we got up and left for home so didnt get to try the breakfast we'd paid for. Much pleasanter receptionist noted our concerns as we paid but made no offer to reduce the bill. Overall then, extremely disappointing, big plasma TVs and edgy furnishings do not make up for a lack of attention to the basics. There would appear to be a history of hot water snags with this place and we regret not reading other reviews before we wasted our £150. We will never stay there again and will recommend our friends and family to avoid the place too." Gericault, England, Visited January 2008
