The a la carte restaurant is open each evening and provides an excellent setting in which to enjoy outstanding 'Taste of Scotland' cuisine.

The chef takes great pride in the natural cooking of local specialities - for example game, beef, salmon and Moray Firth sea food. A vegetarian selection is also offered.

The bar was recently chosen as a 'Great Whisky Bar of The World' by Whisky Magazine, and hosts a selection of over 150 single Malt Whiskies.

There is also a varied choice of cask ales, and bar meals are served daily.

The Highlander Inn is situated in the village of Craigellachie, right on The Speyside Way walking route, and on the banks of the picturesque River Spey.

Craigellachie lies in the Moray and Grampian region, close to the border with the Highland district and its capital, Inverness.

The main A95 [Aviemore to Keith road], and the A941 [Elgin to Rynie road] intersect at Craigellachie.

The Malt Whisky Trail
Whisky lovers, experts and novices, are very well catered for as Speyside has more than half of all distilleries in Scotland! The Speyside Cooperage, situated in the village, gives you the opportunity to see how a cask is made and how it relates to the importance of the finished product. Whisky is Scotland's most famous premium quality export.

Whisky Festivals
The Speyside area is host to two celebrations of whisky each year, the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival in the last weekend of April, and the Dufftown Whisky Festival at the end of September.

The Speyside Way is close at hand for the enthusiastic walker, and passes the hotel car park. Starting at Port Gordon in the north it continues south west for 84 miles through the valleys of the Spey and Glenlivet to Aviemore.

A specially devised package to suit walkers is available, which includes transportation to and from pick-up points. Off road mountain bike tracks are also numerous in the area.
