Strathtyrum Country House

One of Scotland's finest Country Houses, Strathtyrum House offers the highest standard of accommodation for up to 13 guests.

Situated on the outskirts of St Andrews, opposite the famous Old Course, the house is bathed in golfing history.

Built in 1782 for the same family that own it today, the accommodation is traditionally decorated to provide the ultimate in luxurious experiences.

Accommodation is offered on a 'whole house' basis - groups of guests have exclusive use of all rooms and gardens.

Included in the rental rate, a variety of drinks are available at all times, and breakfast and a four-course dinner are served each day.

Up to 13 guests can be accommodated in all bedrooms in the main house.

There are five twin rooms [each with two single beds], one double room and one single room.

All bedrooms have either an en-suite or private bathroom for exclusive use.

The Drawing Room and Entrance Hall offer a warm welcome with their roaring log fires.

A fine collection of antique books, games, television with Sky Digital and a traditional card table are housed in the Library.

The Billiard Room features a full size snooker table.

From Glasgow Airport:

Head East on M8 to Junction 13 and then follow the M80/A80[T]/M80 again/M876 to Kincardine Bridge. Continue on the A977 to the M90 at Kinross (Jn 6).

Head northwards to Junction 8 M90 and thereafter follow A91[T] signposted to St Andrews, Scotland. The entrance gates to Strathtyrum lie on your right hand side opposite the Links Trust golf courses.

Transport from Glasgow Airport to St Andrews can be arranged through Glasgow Airport Millennium Taxis.

From Edinburgh Airport:

Follow signs to Forth Road Bridge and continue north for about 20 miles to Junction 8 of the M90. Thereafter follow signs to St Andrews, Scotland as above.

From Dundee Airport:

Follow signs to Tay Road Bridge and thereafter follow signs to St Andrews passing through Leuchars and Guardbridge on route.

From Prestwick Airport:

Follow signs to Glasgow and once on M8 follow directions as from Glasgow.

Prices are all-inclusive and Strathtyrum House will happily organise international telephone calls and a personal laundry service at an extra charge. Other activities and a Scottish Piper can also be arranged commission free.

Strathtyrum is exclusively available for parties of between 1 and 13 people. A minimum charge applies for smaller parties and this is equivalent to the North East Room, Tulip Room and South East Room being taken at full occupancy.
