General Details
Craigbrae is an attractive stone farmhouse built almost 200 years ago and for the last 20 years it has been the home of Michael and Louise Westmacott.
The landscape around the house is attractive, peaceful and rural - with sheep and cattle grazing. All bedrooms, the dining room and the drawing room look out onto the fields and parkland.
Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home and use the comfortable drawing room with a cosy open fire. There is even satellite television, so you don't miss out on any important matches while away from home!
Fax, E-mail and photocopying facilities are also available, making Craigbrae a suitable base for business and leisure travellers alike.

Louise is happy to cook individually and cater for vegetarian or other special diets.
For lunches and evening meals there are pubs and restaurants by the river half a mile away - in between the two famous bridges in South Queensferry.

Location
Edinburgh City Centre is just 7 miles away by car, or you can use the train from Dalmeny railway station, only ½ a mile away. The twice hourly service is very reasonably priced and takes 13 minutes to get to Edinburgh's Waverley Station.
Travelling by rail saves worrying about traffic, one way streets, parking or just getting lost.
It is so convenient to arrive in the centre where you can step straight onto a guided tour and see all the famous sights including the Castle and Holyrood Palace.
Directions:
From Edinburgh, follow the signs to the Forth Road Bridge down Queensferry Road. Continue over Barnton roundabout and take the first turn off the dual carriageway signposted to Kirkliston.
After the railway bridge turn right up the hill opposite the cottage, then turn first left at top of hill opposite a bungalow and pass Royal Elizabeth Yard on the right.
The driveway to Craigbrae is a few hundred yards further down on the left immediately past Craigbrae Cottages - Craigbrae farmhouse is at the top of the tarmac drive.
Leisure
Louise is very happy to advise on the best places of interest to visit, including the famous attractions of Edinburgh and the many historic houses in the surrounding area.
The oldest part of Hopetoun House - Scotland's finest stately home and the home of the Marquis of Linlithgow - was designed and built by Sir William Bruce between 1699 and 1707, then completed by William Adam in 1721. Also nearby is Dalmeny House, the home of the Earl of Roseberry.
Only 10 minutes away, over the Forth Bridge and on the other side of the river, is Deep Sea World - an amazingly special aquarium, offering something for everyone - and for all weathers!
Craigbrae is perfectly situated for golfing holidays, having plenty of courses within an hours drive - some of the better known courses include: Gleneagles, St Andrews, Troon, Carnoustie and Muirfield.
Michael is an experienced and keen golfer - he can advise on courses to play and is very happy to book tee times on your behalf.
Edinburgh boasts the longest dry ski slope in Europe in the Pentland hills and you can also sail, windsurf and waterski locally. Horse riding can be organised and there are several stables from which to choose.
