Less than 100 metres from Princes Street, Castle View is one of the most centrally located guest houses in Edinburgh.

The building is the birthplace of Kenneth Grahame [1859-1932], author of the famous children's book, 'The Wind In The Willows'.

A spacious apartment in Edinburgh city centre, Castle View Guest House occupies the top 2 floors of a superb Georgian residence.

Vegetarian and low fat choices are also available on the menu, as is a cold buffet of fruit juices, fruits, yoghurts and cereals.

For other meals, there is a very wide choice available, all within walking distance of the guest house.

Castle View Guest House is located in the heart of Edinburgh, just 100 metres from Princes Street.

It is within a ten minute walk from the Waverley train and bus stations and only a twenty minute drive from the airport.

Off street parking is not available and Castle Street is now pedestrian. However, there is metered street parking [Monday to Saturday 08:30 to 18:30] in nearby George Street or North Castle Street. Parking is free of charge from 18.30 each night until 08.30 and all day Sunday. The nearest car park is 5-10 minutes walk away.

Guests at Castle View can enjoy a day pass at the nearby [less than 100 metres] Roxburghe Hotel Health and Leisure Club for £8.00 including use of the gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Alternatively, make an appointment for a massage, facial or other treatment at the Beauty Spa.

The higher rates apply at peak periods - for example during Edinburgh Festival and at Hogmanay.

This is a totally non smoking establishment.

Please note that Castle View Guest House is not suitable for Guests who may have difficulty with stairs or for younger children, as we are a Penthouse Apartment on the third and fourth floors and there is no elevator.
