Old Manse

Designed by Thomas Telford this manse, or Scottish minister's home, was built in 1827 and is now a listed building,

'Twixt Ben Nevis and Glencoe'.

It is situated very close to the shores of Loch Linnhe, in the lovely West Highland village of Onich.

The Old Manse has been fully refurbished to a high standard and offers comfort and tranquillity surrounded by a wonderfully scenic landscape.

The house and gardens both have stunning views of the loch and there is ample off street parking for vehicles.

All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities along with a colour television and radio.

The accommodation comprises:

• 2 large twin bedded rooms with private shower and toilet facilities en-suite
• 1 double bedded room with private shower and toilet facilities adjacent

One of the twin bedded rooms also has a sofa bed, making it ideal for a small group booking.

Substantial and healthy breakfasts are served each morning to guests, in their own rooms.

For other meals, discounts are available for Old Manse guests at the nearby Isles of Glencoe Hotel, which has a good Bistro Bar and serves mouth-watering cuisine in the Conservatory Restaurant [pre-booking recommended].

Here, you will marvel at the breathtaking views out across Loch Leven and onwards to the Pap of Glencoe - possibly the finest and most romantic dining location in the world!

There are also several other places to eat in the village, from fresh fish and chips to elegant haute cuisine.

Onich is situated a short distance from famous Ben Nevis and Glencoe. The main road to Onich is the A82, which runs all the way from Glasgow.

It is about 10 miles south of Fort William, to which daily train services run from Glasgow. Regular services connect Glasgow to the rest of the UK.

Bus services to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oban, Fort William and Inverness also run in this region.

Loch Linnhe, a sea-loch with its southernmost reaches just to the north of Oban, splits into two 'fingers' at Onich, one stretching northwards and the other to the east.

This is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Highlands, as well as discovering the landscapes of the Mull and Oban, Loch Ness, Skye and Inveraray.

Golfing is available nearby, along with a great variety of other visitor attractions and activities, including:
