Located on the southern side of Edinburgh, this delightful detached town house offers spacious accommodation.
Hillcroft Bed and Breakfast is quiet and peaceful, but it is close enough for convenient and easy access to Edinburgh city centre.
There are public and private golf courses within walking distance, many of which overlook the Edinburgh skyline.
There are southerly views to the Pentland Hills from Hillcroft, which was built in the early 1920's.
The conservatory is available for guests to use at any time and overlooks the patio and rear garden.
Hillcroft Bed and Breakfast is run by Anne and Mike White, who also offer an excellent range of day trips to guests.
Accommodation
Accommodation is bright and airy but most importantly, it is very comfortable. Each bedroom is equipped with:
- Colour television and radio
- Wash basin and hairdryer
- Tea and coffee making facilities
The main bathroom has a shower as well as a bath - with permanently hot water.
An additional bathroom is available for guests to use, as is a separate small kitchen.
The cosy double bedded room has a heated blanket for use on chilly nights. The twin room also has a homely atmosphere and both bedrooms have ample adjustable heating.
Food and Drink
At Hillcroft guests are served 'the best breakfast in Scotland!' Special diets are happily catered for, but the usual cooked menu includes:
- Eggs - boiled, poached, fried, scrambled
- Bacon and sausages [or kippers]
- Tomatoes and mushrooms
- Porridge
Tea, coffee, cereal, fruit juice, fruit compote, toast and croissants are also available.
Location
Hillcroft is situated 10 minutes from the city centre using the frequent bus services, although many guests prefer to walk.
The Braid Hills are within a 5 minute walk of this peaceful suburban location.
Leisure
Attractions of Edinburgh include:
- Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile
- Museums and Gardens [Princes Street and Botanical]
- Scenic hills and castles in surrounding countryside
- Sports activities - both tennis and dry ski slope close to Hillcroft
On the Braid Hills, only a short walk away, are two golf courses - one private and one public.
The range of day trips offered by Anne and Mike include loch and river fishing, hill walking and local walking. Picnics and packed lunches can be prepared for anglers and walkers.
Prices
Bed and Breakfast [per person per night]:
£30.00 double occupancy, or £35.00 single occupancy

Day Trips [per person per day]:
£20.00 for local walking including lunch, to £35.00 for loch and river fishing

This is a totally non smoking B&B. 
Ample off street parking for vehicles.
Separate small kitchen for guests to use.
No toddlers - well behaved children accepted.
Pets not allowed in the house.
