This holiday accommodation is located in Thornhill, 10 miles from the historic town of Stirling - with its dramatic castle overlooking the River Forth.

Within easy reach of this quiet, rural setting there are lochs, mountains and places of historic interest - with over 20 golf courses within an hour's drive!

Norrieston is an old manse, or Scottish minister's home, the oldest part of which was built in 1765.

Most of the East Wing was built in 1862.

The house has a large, attractive garden and is surrounded by farmland. The cherished bird population of the garden includes over 20 different species.

Nearby Thornhill village was founded in 1696 by Archibald Napier, whose great grandfather was the mathematician John Napier - famous for inventing the logarithm.

The East Wing has 1 double room and 2 twin bedded rooms, and provides comfortable accommodation for up to 6 adults.

There are 2 bathrooms, 1 with bath and separate shower, the other with a shower only.

The living room is of a good size and benefits from an open fire - which is in addition to the central heating throughout the building.

The kitchen is well equipped, with:

• Electric oven and gas hob
• Microwave
• Dishwasher
• Refrigerator and Freezer

An additional utility room contains a washing machine and tumble drier.

A short walk away is the charming village of Thornhill, which has a shop, post office and 2 pubs.

Norrieston's wonderfully central location is about half a mile from the small village of Thornhill [population about 500], which is 10 miles from Stirling.

Stirling has good train services to most of the main towns and cities of Scotland.

To reach Norrieston from Edinburgh and Glasgow, drive north to the M9, then take the A84 west, signposted Crianlarich.

Take the left fork at Blairdrummond onto the A873. 50 yards before Thornhill village, turn left, signposted Norrieston Farm.

Take second right to the farm and the house is the left turn after crossing the stream.

Within a short drive of Norrieston East Wing you can visit many attractions.

Only half an hour away is Loch Voil in Perthshire, popular for walking and fishing.
