Situated immediately on the shore of Loch Long, Tigh Tasgaidh Beag is a gem of a home that offers outstanding self-catering accomodation for up to four people, with views across to the mountains of Skye.

The accommodation is furnished and equipped to the highest standards to offer an exceptional holiday base for exploring the North West Highlands and Skye.

Historic Eileen Donan is half a mile away, with outstanding scenery, walking opportunities and varied daily outings. Tigh Tasgaid's owner, Louise, will also happily suggest a number of interesting walks.

The spacious wing of this historic house comfortably accommodates four adults.

Lovely gardens surround Tigh Tasgaidh Beag, and guests are welcome to use the gardens and the outside furniture at their leisure.

With excellent facilities and a wonderful location, it is no surprise that guests return here from all over the world on a regular basis!

There are three steps leading to the front entrance and one step to the back door. Accommodation is level inside, all on ground floor.

The private front door of the apartment opens into the huge sitting room, which has large windows looking onto the sea.

The sitting room is equipped with a colour television, video recorder, books, games and videos.

The spacious kitchen/dining room is fitted with new pine units and matching furniture. Kitchen equipment includes a washing machine, electric cooker, deep freeze, fridge and a stereo CD player.

The double bedded room has a king size luxury bed and also has garden views.

The twin bedded room overlooks the garden to the rear of the house.

The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, a wash basin and toilet.

A welcome pack containing basic provisions is placed in Tigh Tasgaidh Beag at the beginning of each week.

On arrival, complimetary afternoon tea is served in a warm and comfortable environment so that you can relax after your journey.

For eating out, there are two hotels, one pub and an excellent restaurant within walking distance of the accommodation.

Situated on the A87 Invergarry to Kyle of Lochalsh road, Dornie is easy to reach from both Inverness and Fort William.

There is a railway station at Kyle of Lochalsh, with service connections to Inverness.

For visitors wanting to explore the Isle of Skye, the 'Skye Bridge' is only 10 miles away.

Alternatively, you can make use of the seasonal Glenelg to Kylerhea short ferry crossing for your outward or return journey.

Picturesque Dornie makes an excellent base for touring and walking in the Western Highlands and the Isle of Skye.

Pastimes for the energetic include climbing, riding, skiing, golfing, swimming [in the local swimming pool], boat trips, fishing and off-road biking.

This area has an abundance of castles, museums, historic remains and gardens to visit.

Eilean Donan Castle is just half a mile away from Tigh Tasgaidh and is a must for romantics, particularly at sunset.

The Glomach Falls are another magnificent spectacle, whilst Torridon and Applecross make delightful and easy day trips.

The national trust village of Plocton is close by and there is an abundance of superb hill walks.

Bicycles can be stored in the garage. Small boats or canoes can be launched by the side of the front garden. For larger boats and sailing dinghies there is a slipway 100 metres away.
