Taigh Iasgair [Gaelic for Fisherman's Cottage] is located in the small heritage fishing village of Portknockie on the Moray Firth coast.
Portknockie was voted 'Best Kept Village in Moray' in the 2002 Scotland in Bloom competition and is ideal for a relaxing holiday.
The cottage was built circa 1850 and has been recently renovated to comfortably accommodate six to eight people.
Taigh Iasgair has been awarded 3 Stars by the Scottish Tourist Board.
Accommodation
On the ground floor the accommodation includes a twin bedded room with wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside units.
There is also a comfortably furnished lounge with three seater sofa, two armchairs, nest of tables, colour television and video recorder.
The dining room has a table and eight chairs, a side-board, fridge and freezer.
The kitchen is well equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave oven, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and iron, along with all of the essential utensils and cutlery.
The downstairs cloak/utility room has toilet, wash-hand basin and washing machine.
Upstairs the 'Master' Bedroom has a king-size double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside units.
The family bedroom has two double beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside units.
The main bathroom has a bath, toilet and wash-hand basin, whilst the separate shower room has another wash-hand basin and a shaver point.
At the rear of the house is a small shared garden in the traditional style of the area and a secure locking garden shed is available for the storage of fishing equipment and bicylces.
There is also a clothes drying line which is exclusive to the cottage.
Food and Drink
Taigh Iasgair Cottage is only 200 metres from the nearest shop. Within the village there is a small grocery shop which also houses the post office, a general merchant's store, a chemist, two hotels and a chip shop.
Nearby Cullen and Buckie have a larger choice of shops, banks, hotels, pubs, restaurants and take-away outlets, some of which deliver to the village.
Elgin, which is about 17 miles away, has a range of large supermarkets including some that are open 24 hours.
Location
The cottage is located at 42 Church Street, Portknockie - which is about 60 miles from either Aberdeen or Inverness.
The town is on a main bus route [Aberdeen-Elgin] and the clean sandy beaches of Cullen Bay are only a short walk away.
Nearby, Spey Bay is a nature reserve and the starting point for the Speyside Way walking route.
Leisure
Portknockie is ideally situated for golfers with several 18 hole courses nearby. It is also an ideal base for walkers and cyclists or for touring around the Grampian area as the village lies on the Millenium cycle route.
Fishing, pony trekking, dolphin and bird watching are other activities in the area.
The world famous Malt Whisky, Castle and Fishing Heritage Trails are all easily accessible.

This is a totally non smoking cottage. 
The upper landing has pine storage for additional bed linen, towels and a small selection of board games, playing cards and books to suit most tastes.
Duvets, bed linen and towels provided.
Cot, high chair and safety gates available if required.
There is a telephone with restrictions applied.
Pets welcome by arrangement.
