Lyall Cliff offers very comfortable Dunoon Accommodation - the ideal place for a relaxing break beside the sea.
This beautiful seafront location is on East Bay Promenade in Dunoon - the main town of Scotland's scenic Cowal Peninsula.
The large, attractively laid out front garden always proves a delight in sunny weather and guests are welcome to use the garden furniture - the 'hideaway' corner usually proves particularly popular!
The self-catering units are within a 10 minute walk of Dunoon town centre and there is ample parking for vehicles on-site.
Lyall Cliff has been awarded with three stars by the Scottish Tourist Board.
Accommodation
There are two properties available - a spacious semi-detached house [Firthview House] and an attached cottage [Lyall Cliff Cottage].
Each self-catering holiday home has:
- Fine sea-views and beautiful location
- Colour television
- Central heating
Firthview House has seven rooms, including four en-suite bedrooms - two double and two twin rooms.
Accommodation for up to eight people is available in Firthview House.
This property has one bedroom on the ground floor and there is disabled access - please ask for details.
The lounge is also on ground floor level, as is the kitchen/dining room - equipped with:
- Electric cooker
- Microwave
- Fridge / freezer
- Washer / dryer
- Dishwasher
Lyall Cliff Cottage offers accommodation for up to four people.
There are two bedrooms [one double and one twin] on first floor level, overlooking the sea.
Downstairs there is a sitting room, a dining room, a kitchen and a bathroom [with bath and electric shower].
The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and a clothes washer / dryer.
Food and Drink
Dunoon has a good shopping centre with two supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops, take-aways and garages. There is also a well equipped and friendly Tourist Information Centre.
Location
Dunoon is easily reached in just over an hour from Glasgow, using the M8 motorway or taking the train to Gourock, then a ferry across the Clyde.
Frequent ferry services run from Gourock - Dunoon and the crossing takes about 20 minutes [please ask for details of discounted ferry tickets].
Alternatively, the town can be reached over land by using the A82 Loch Lomond road, the spectacular A83 'Rest-and-be-Thankful' pass, and the beautiful A815 Loch Fyne and Loch Eck road.
Leisure
Extensive local information and Visitor Programmes are available for the use of all guests at Lyall Cliff.
The views over the Firth of Clyde and towards Dunoon town centre are often described as fascinating as well as beautiful; all kinds of boats and ships are to be seen - from fishing boats to cruise liners such as the QE2.
Local attractions include excursions on the famous PS Waverley, the award-winning Castle House Museum and Gardens, the Bishop's Glen, Dunoon Ceramics, the modern Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre, Cowal Golf Club, tennis, bowling, and the extensive scenic Promenade.
Cowal [the area between Loch Long and Loch Fyne] boasts excellent opportunities for the Great Outdoors - particularly walking, hill walking and cycling.
The Kyles of Bute and Tighnabruaich, with the beautiful sandy beach at nearby Kilbride Bay, should not be missed!
Prices
Firthview House £395.00 - £650.00 per week.
Lyall Cliff Cottage £220.00 - £420.00 per week.
Short Breaks of 3 or 4 nights are also available, except in July or August when the minimum stay is 1 week.
Although the usual change-over day for Firthview House is Saturday and for Lyall Cliff Cottage Wednesday, the exact dates for your stay can be tailored to suit you.
Firthview House tariff is fully inclusive.
Small additional cost for gas at Lyall Cliff Cottage - meter reading taken and charged according to use.
Other Information
Lyall Cliff Accommodation is non-smoking. 
Bed linen and towels, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are provided.
Children under 4 years not accepted.
Pets cannot be accommodated.
