Tigh a Chladaich means 'House on the stony shore' - this holiday cottage perches on a rocky promontory.

This lovely setting, by the water's edge, is less than 2 miles south west of Lochinver.

There are panoramic coastal views, with 14 acres of birch clad hills to the rear of the property.

Sutherland is Britain's largest county - remote, sparsely populated and most importantly, peaceful.

Enjoy endless walks, sea or loch fishing, climbing or hiking in the mountains.

Drive through spectacular scenery on uncrowded roads, where around every corner there is another view to behold.

The waves lap against the shore beneath this split level house, whilst inside the accommodation includes a mixture of modern and antique furnishings.

On the ground floor level, the main lounge has 2 sofas, a colour television and door to the garden. There is a 'Hideaway' double wall bed and cupboard.

The spacious sitting room has a ceramic floor and rugs, colour television, DVD player, music centre. Patio doors on 2 sides overlook the tree-lined shore.

On the 'Mid-level' the well equipped kitchen is next door to the dining room and the hall has a pay phone.

Also on this floor of the holiday cottage there is a twin room with 2 single beds that can be zipped together to make a double and a shower room with bidet.

Upstairs, there is 1 double and 1 twin bedroom. Patio doors lead to a balcony overlooking the sea.

The top floor bathroom has a bath with shower over, a bidet, wash basin, toilet and a large window with sea view.

Nearby Lochinver offers a small choice of restaurants serving delicious Scottish food and a selection of take-away establishments.

There is also a family-run delicatessen, a petrol station, shops and a doctor.

Directions by road: - Drive through the village of Lochinver and follow signs for Strathan and Inverkirkaig. At the Culag river bridge, fork left and the cottage is on the same site as Lochinver Holiday Lodges [sign on the right hand side of the road].

£510.00 to £892.00 based on up to four sharing.

Weeks run from Saturday to Saturday and prices depend on season.

Over four people and up to eight people are charged an extra £35.00 each up to a maximum of £950.00 per week.

Bed linen and towels are provided.

Oil and electricity £20.00 per week.

Cot/High Chair £10.00 or £15.00 for both.

Pets cannot be accommodated.
