This self-catering property offers comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people and is located in the pretty hamlet of Elphin, 12 miles by road from Ullapool.
Knockan Crag Cottage is surrounded by working croft land, against the backdrop of the sandstone peaks of Suilven, Canisp and Cul Mor.

Built in around 1850, this lovely character cottage is full of the modern comforts of home.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin. The twin has a spacious en-suite shower room [with shower, toilet and wash basin].
The main bathroom in the property is particularly luxurious, with a large double-ended bath, toilet and wash basin].
Both the en-suite shower room and the main bathroom feature a heated towel rail and modern tiled flooring with under-floor heating system.
The comfortable lounge/dining room has a video player, CD player, board games and a selection of books.
There is a sofa [which can convert into a double bed] and traditional solid beech armchairs.
The kitchen area is well equipped, with an electric cooker, microwave and grill, toaster, kettle, fridge and freezer.
Knockan Crag Cottage is particularly well insulated and has electric thermostatic heaters in each room.
Food and Drink
Good food and drink are served at the Alt Bar, the local Inn close to the cottage.
Location
The cottage is located in the pretty hamlet of Elphin in Sutherland, 12 miles north east of Ullapool.
Boat trips around the Summer Isles are possible from the picturesque fishing village of Ullapool, nestled on the shores of Loch Broom about 1 hour north of Loch Ness and Inverness Airport.
From the same port you can take a car ferry to the Western Isles [Outer Hebrides] of Lewis and Harris.
Lochinver is just over 20 miles from Elphin by road.
Leisure
Knockan Crag Holiday Homes are perfect for a walking holiday - there are a number of coastal paths and mountain walks in the locality or within easy reach by car.
The owners can recommend a number of routes to try, some of which are 'dog-friendly'.
Inverpolly is an area of some 40 square miles adjacent to the cottage - rare sightings here include golden plover, golden eagle and pine marten.
The Knockan Crag Nature Reserve is within walking distance, with a visitor centre open all year round.
For anglers, the wild brown trout and salmon fishing is superb on the many lochs and rivers of Assynt - with fly fishing lessons available locally in Elphin.
