The Farmhouse is located on the main drive to Strathtyrum House and less than a quarter of a mile from the 16th fairway of the famous Old Course!

This property has three bedrooms - one double, one twin and one single - and a bathroom with bath and hand shower, toilet and wash basin.

Detached and with its own gardens, The Farmhouse offers accommodation on three floors, with the well equipped living room and kitchen both on the ground floor.

Lower Balgove has two bedrooms, each with a large double bed, and all accommodation is at ground floor level.

The comfortable sitting room has an open fire and TV, and leads to the main bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and wash basin [additional toilet with wash basin is off the hall].

Edenview Cottage has two bedrooms, each with a large double bed, and views to the Eden Estuary.

The property is adjacent to Lower Balgove Cottage and offers accommodation all on first floor level - the sitting room has a double sofa bed for two additional occupants if required.

One bedroom has en-suite facilities, and the main bathroom in the cottage has bath, shower, toilet and wash basin.

Each property's kitchen is well equipped with a minimum of an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge. Dining areas have seating for all occupants of the cottage.

There is a choice of two supermarkets in nearby St Andrews. Several grocery stores, local butchers and fresh produce shops are also within easy reach by car.

There is a wide choice of good quality restaurants and take away establishments in St Andrews, only a short drive from the cottages.

The main gates of the Strathtyrum Estate are approximately half a mile from the outskirts of St Andrews on the A91 road. Pass through the gates and proceed up the drive of Strathtyrum House - all three properties are easily accessible by car from the driveway of Strathtyrum House.

Just off the main drive leading to Strathtyrum House, the walled garden is available for the use of all guests on the Estate.

On the outskirts of St Andrews, the cottages are ideal for golf enthusiats - even when the Open Championship is not being held in St Andrews, many of the other famous venues are within a short drive [for example Canoustie, where the 2007 Open Championship was held].

Golfing holidays and breaks - if playing golf rather than watching is your interest, many of Fife's courses are open to visitors, with help and advice available from the managers of Strathtyrum Estate Rental Properties.

Other local activities available include swimming, tennis, walking, and enjoying watersports such as sailing and windsurfing.

The beach that was featured in the film 'Chariots of Fire' is just beyond the Old Course, about 10-15 minutes walk from Strathtyrum.

The normal start and finish day for a weekly let is Friday. Check in unless by prior arrangement no earlier than 16:00 and check out no later than 10:00.

Bedding - all bed linen and towels provided. Beds have synthetic duvets and pillows [no feathers], and non allergenic mattresses. The farming on the Strathtyrum Estate is entirely arable [no animals].
