General Details
Inverfiddich Lodge is a wooden fishing cabin offering self-catering accommodation on the banks of the River Spey.
Set within four acres of private grounds in the village of Craigellachie, the accommodation is fully modernised, with triple glazing and electric panel heating.
The local Inn is opposite the Lodge and Speyside's Whisky distilleries, Castles and many walking, golfing and cycling opportunites are within easy reach.
Accommodation
Accommodation is provided in one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and an extra single bed can be provided on request.
Guests can dine and relax in the open plan lounge / kitchen / dining room.
This room overlooks the River Spey and the grounds of Inverfiddich House.
The modern kitchen in the lodge is fitted with a double oven and hob for cooking.
The comfortable lounge area has a colour television with satellite channels and a DVD player.
Food and Drink
Self-catering provisions are available at Craigellachie Petrol Station and the supermarkets in Aberlour and Dufftown also provide a variety of food provisions.
There is also a good Delicatessen in Aberlour, along with the famous Walkers Shortbread shops and factory outlets!
For a greater selection of food, Elgin and Keith are within driving distance of the Lodge and have a selection of large supermarkets.
There are many pubs and bars in Craigellachie, including The Fiddichside Inn, which is just opposite the Lodge, and the Craigellachie Hotel, which has a bar serving over 500 whiskies.
The Highlander Inn is also in the village and serves delicious meals all day, with various cask beers on tap.
The area surrounding Craigellachie is also home to a number of excellent restaurants, including The Auld Mill and the Hotel at Archiestown, and The Dowans and Aberlour Hotels in Aberlour.
The nearby distillery town of Dufftown also has the La Faisanderie and Tannoch Brae restaurants, so guests will be spoiled for choice for lunchtime and evening meals.
Location
Inverfiddich Lodge is situated in the village of Craigellachie, two miles from Aberlour, four miles from Dufftown and 14 miles from Keith and Elgin.
The train stations at Keith and Elgin have good rail links and both Aberdeen and Inverness Airports are approximately 40 miles away.
Guests travelling from Inverness or Abderdeen should take the A96 road to Elgin, then follow the A941 road south to Craigellachie. Take the A95 towards Keith, and Inverfiddich is on the left on the outskirts of the village.
If travelling from Edinburgh or Glasgow, follow the M90 or M9 towards Perth, then take the A9 north for Inverness. At Aviemore junction, take A95 to Craigellachie.
Leisure
Situated in the heart of Speyside, Craigellachie is conveniently situated for visits to the many whisky distilleries, 18 of which are within a 10 mile radius of Inverfiddich Lodge.
The distilleries have visitor centres which run tours and sell some of Scotland's best whiskies, and visitors to the Craigellachie Cooperage can watch coopers making the barrels in which these whiskies will be held.
The area also offers many leisure activities, including golfing, horse riding and fishing, with the Ben Aigan mountain cross trails located just a few minutes from the Lodge.
The walking and cycling trails of Speyside Way are also on the Lodge's doorstep, and for guests wishing to travel slightly further afield, the slopes of the Lecht and Cairngorm at Aviemore offer excellent skiing opportunities.
The area around Craigellachie is also a haven for wildlife - otters, red squirrels, roe deer and over 50 bird species are regularly sighted, and guests are welcome to explore the spacious grounds of Inverfiddich House, with its riverside walks along the Spey and Fiddich Rivers.
