General Details
This selection of Hillside Lodges offers self-catering accommodation for four to six people overlooking Loch Awe.
There are two lodges with two bedrooms and two lodges with one bedroom - all lodges have a sofa bed for extra sleeping space.
The many attractions in Portsonachan and around Loch Awe are within easy reach, and outdoor pursuits such as fishing are offered to guests free of charge.
Accommodation
All of the Hillside Lodges are situated in an elevated position overlooking Loch Awe - guests can enjoy magnificent loch-views for several miles.
The two one-bedroom lodges offer accommodation in one double bedroom with en-suite facilities.
The two two-bedroom lodges offer accommodation in one double and one twin bedroom.
Extra accommodation is provided on a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge of all lodges.
Each lounge also has a wide-screen television and DVD player and music system for entertainment.
The kitchens have an adjoining dining area, and are equipped with:
- Cooker
- Microwave
- Fridge
- Dishwasher
The one-bedroom lodges also have a washing machine and exercise room, and the two-bedroom lodges have an en-suite in the main bedroom and a sauna and power shower in the main bathroom.
Food and Drink
All required self-catering facilities are provided in each lodge.
However, the nearby Portsonachan Hotel offers bar food and has a full restaurant serving Scottish cuisine for guests looking for a break from cooking!
Location
The Hillside Lodges are situated next to the Portsonachan Hotel on the southern shore of Loch Awe.
The accommodation can be easily accessed from the M74 or M9 motorway.
From Glasgow, follow the M74 over the Erskine Bridge and head towards Tarbet along the A82, then Inveraray along the A83.
From Inveraray, take the B840 road towards Cladich and Ford and you will reach Portsonachan.
From Edinburgh, take the M9 motorway and leave at junction 10, heading along the A85 towards Oban.
Travel along the A85 until you see the sign for Inveraray, which will take you onto the A819 road.
Follow this road to the Cladich turnoff and follow this road for approximately four miles.
Leisure
The area surrounding Loch Awe is known for its variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, sailing, cycling and walking.
Guests at the Hillside Lodges can go fishing in Loch Awe for free and there are also boats available for hire at the nearby Portsonachan Hotel.
The Loch Awe area also has many points of historical interest, including Inveraray Jail and Castle, Kilmartin House and the Stone Circle - just west of Kilmartin, within easy reach of the accommodation.

Weekly Rates [depending on season]:
- One Bedroom Lodges - £350.00 to £595.00
- Two Bedroom Apartments - £350.00 to £750.00
Short breaks and single nights are available in a one bedroom lodge from £40.00 pounds per night.
Short breaks of three nights or more are available in a two bedroom lodge from £50.00 pounds per night.
