The property has many charming period features and is a stone villa within easy walking distance of the first tee at the famous Machrihanish Championship Golf Course.
Machrihanish is a small village near Campbeltown on the Mull of Kintyre, and the location of this accommodation is particularly beautiful.
Looking out over Machrihanish Bay, there are often stunning sunsets, with frequent sightings of sea birds or seals and on occasion the visiting otters.
Accommodation
The glazed porch leads to the hallway, which in turn provides access to a spacious sitting room, with sea views. The colour television has a video player and records, books and games.
On the ground floor there is a dining room and study, a fully equipped kitchen, a glazed back porch and a toilet.
The property's kitchen has an electric cooker, a microwave, a large fridge / freezer, a washing machine and tumble drier.
Bedrooms:
On the first floor there is a double bedded room, a twin bedded room and a single bedroom.
Downstairs, the study can be used as a fourth bedroom.
The upstairs bathroom has a bath, toilet and wash basin.
Outside, there is an attractive garden surrounding the villa on three sides. The grounds of the property provide the perfect place in which to sit and gaze out over the ever-changing sea.
Food and Drink
This is a unique holiday home with the emphasis on charm and character. The kitchen offers good facilities for self catering and it is well maintained, with crockery, cutlery and utensils provided for guests.
The local pub / restaurant in Machrihanish offers refreshments and bar meals. There are supermarkets, shops, hotels, and restaurants in nearby Campbeltown.
Location
The village of Machrihanish is located close to the southern end of the famous Kintyre Peninsula. Bayvoyach West is easy to find - directions will be provided when booking accommodation.
Leisure
For those on a golfing holiday, the first tee of the links course at Machrihanish Championship Golf Club is nearby. Other golf courses in Argyll are within driving distance.
If you are visiting the area for a walking holiday, there are a number of excellent walks to be enjoyed in the Machrihanish locality.
Stroll along the sandy beach to West Port, or walk in the opposite direction from the property to the area known as the the Gauldrens. Here, a dramatic mixture of wild seas, golden sands and cliff tops can be found, along with feral goats!
Take a short drive to reach Campbeltown. From here there are sailing trips, sea angling excursions, fishing and day trips to Arran or Gigha available.
When visiting Gigha, the unusual plants to be found at Achamore Gardens include some of the more delicate, semi tropical species that thrive in the climate [which is warmed by the noted 'Gulf Stream' currents].
At the mouth of Campbeltown loch, visitors can walk to the island of Davaar - but only at low tide! - and see the cave painting depicting Jesus, for which the island is famed.
