General Details
The Lochside Suites offer self-catering accommodation in one of 10 suites overlooking Loch Awe.
The suites offer accommodation for up to four guests and are decorated to an excellent standard, with traditional highland slate flooring and large patio doors offering views over the surrounding area.
Many of the attractions to Loch Awe are within easy reach of the apartment suites, including some of Scotland's finest fresh water loch fishing and a selection of local golf courses.
The archaeological attractions at Kilmartin, and many other points of interest that surround Loch Awe are also within driving distance of the apartment suites.
Accommodation
Sleeping accommodation is offered in a large double bedroom with an en-suite 'Villroy and Boch' bathroom.
There is also a pull-down leather sofa bed with a four-inch sprung mattress in the lounge.
The kitchen is equipped with modern self-catering facilities, including a dishwasher, and the lounge is furnished with leather sofas.
There is also a wet shower room, and a music system, colour television and DVD player are also provided for indoor entertainment.
Guests have access to patio seating on the shore of Loch Awe, which can be used for relaxation whilst appreciating the natural surroundings.
Food and Drink
Although the Lochside Suites are equipped with all required self-catering facilities, the nearby Portsonachan Hotel offers a variety of dining options.
The Cruachan Restaurant serves modern Scottish cuisine prepared from local produce.
The 'Captain's Bar' serves a selection of Highland whiskies and other drinks, and visitors can also order bar meals.
Location
The Portsonachan Lochside Suites are situated next to the Portsonachan Hotel on the southern shore of Loch Awe, 10 miles south west of the village of Lochawe and 13 miles north of Inveraray.
Driving Directions from Glasgow:
Follow the M74 to Glasgow, then head towards the Erskine Bridge.
Cross the bridge and take the A82 to Tarbet, then take the A83 to Inveraray.
From Inveraray, take the B840 which is signposted Cladich and Ford, and follow this road for approximately four miles.
Driving Directions from Edinburgh:
Take the M9 road towards Stirling until junction 10.
From this junction, head towards Lochearnhead and continue on the A85 to Crianlarich, then Oban.
This road will take you to Dalmally.
Keep on the A85 until you see the sign for Inveraray, which will take you onto the A819.
Travel along this road for five miles until you come to the Cladich turnoff. Take this road and follow it for approximately four miles.
Leisure
A 27 mile long fresh water loch, Loch Awe is well known for its excellent 'Wild' fishing opportunities.
It is home to a variety of fish including Salmon, Pike and Trout - guests at the Lochside Suites can fish for free!
For keen golfers, there are many local golf courses within easy reach of the suites, including those at Inveraray and Dalmally.
Boats can be hired from the Portsonachan Hotel for sailing on Loch Awe and the area offers a number of water sport activities, mountain biking and walking opportunities.
Attractions nearby include Inverarary Jail and Inveraray Castle, Kilmartin House and the Stone Circle west of Kilmartin.

Accommodation rates per week: from £375.00 to £625.00 depending on season.
Rates include a full mid-week service and all linen and towels.
Electricity is charged at 11p per unit.
